I cannot help you to do this cause it takes time and patience. Sometimes, you might need to apply the same filter three times sequentially or in different parts of the script. There is no shortcut for this I am afraid. What order? You have to experiment and make rationale for each and every filter. If you apply too much, you are in for a fright but using it sparingly, you will get a better result as opposed to not using it at all. In that particular example, maa is enough since it is light weight and doesn't overdo it unlike other AAs. You might need to do a bit of research on other resizers when the artifacts are too much for you. The kicker is artifact can be introduced in the frame. In other words, this resizer is not as blurry as Bicubic when it comes to upscaling.
It has an algorithm to maintain the sharpness of a frame after resizing. I use Bicubic because it is fast, doesn't introduce oversharpened frames thus reducing the amount of aliasing that might occur when downscaling.įor upscaling however, you are looking at Lanczos.
What order do you recommend using them in? What will help in upscaling/ removing the jagged lines this case? Is it better to use LanczosResize or Bicubic? I hear Lanczos is sharper.Īlso, I will probably use deblocking, AA (is maa better than the others?), perhaps denoising as well. I recall using an autoloading script called AnimeUpscale, not the one preloaded with XviD4PSP (I don't think so anyway). I don't care about file size and only care about quality. Most of the videos are 4-6 minutes long at most. I upscale mainly music videos and not anime episodes.
This is the same batch file I used years ago. "C:\Users\Solace\Desktop\Encode\x264.exe" -level 5.1 -preset veryslow -crf -12 -output "C:\Users\Solace\Desktop\Encode\test.mp4" "C:\Users\Solace\Desktop\Encode\Test.avs" avsi autoloading script?Īlso, for my batch file, can I just use something like: My main resource of avs is of course, the avisynth wiki:Īh, now that is the syntax I am familiar with. START /belownormal /b avs4x26x.exe -x264-binary "x264_64.exe" -preset veryslow -level 4.0 -tune animation -crf 16 -deblock -2:-2 -ref 8 -vbv-init 0.8 -qcomp 0.7 -psy-rd 1.00:0.10 -aq-strength 0.6 -no-fast-pskip -colormatrix bt709 -threads 6 -output "G:\Converted\%%~ni.mkv" "G:\New_Folders\%%i" Do take note I am using a modded x264 encoder because of certain filters not working in the off Now its a simple matter of parsing the script you have written to a x264 encoder. And we are done! This is just a very simple script.
